\F3This summer course for beginners and advanced students 
will emphasize watercolor techniques and composition in 
landscape painting.

\F6	Pre-registration is essential and can only be done in person.
Register June 3 through June 19, or July 1 through July 3, 8 A.M. til 
8 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays, Middlefield Campus of Foothill College, 
4000 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto (tel. 424-8600) or at the Registrar's 
Office, Foothill Campus.

	First class meets at 8:30 A.M. Monday, July 15.  Please be prompt
to insure your place in the class.  Bring all watercolor supplies you may own.



\F1Edith Smith, painter and printmaker, received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of California,
Berkeley, with additional studies at L'Academie de la Grande Chaumiere and Atelier Calevaert-Brun,
Paris.  She has taught painting, design and art appreciation at U.C. Berkeley, the Chicago Art 
Institute, and the University of Chicago.  Her paintings and etchings have been exhibited at the 
San Francisco Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, (Watercolor Biennial), 
the Galerie Colette Allendy, Paris, the Galerie Dautzenberg, Brussels, etc.
